Quest 3 accessories actually worth buying

Most Quest 3 accessories are skippable. A few are not.
What actually matters
A head strap with counterweight. The stock Quest 3 strap puts all 515g of headset on your forehead. A counterweighted strap (elite-style) shifts half that load to the back of your skull. Sessions go from 30 minutes to 90 without the headache. This is the single most impactful upgrade.
A silicone face cover. The default foam absorbs sweat and smells after a few weeks. Silicone wipes clean in seconds and gives you a slightly wider field of view. It is a $15-20 swap and you will not go back.
A hard-shell case if you move the headset. If it lives on your desk and never moves, skip it. If you travel or bring it to a friend's place, a molded case protects the lenses and the controllers in one bag.
What you can skip
Controller grips, lens protectors, cable management clips — none of these are essential for most use cases. Buy them if you have a specific reason; otherwise start with the strap and the face cover.
The starter pack
If you want all three essentials at once, the Starter Pack (strap, case, face cover) costs less than buying them separately. That is the best starting point for a new Quest 3 owner.
